An authentic and conservation-worthy fishing village with buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries

Håholmen

The island of Håholmen, located near the Atlantic Road, has been a traditional fishing village for dried and salted fish (klippfisk) since the early 1700s. Today, the charming cluster of houses includes hotel rooms, a restaurant, a pub, a museum, and small, cozy event and meeting venues. With around thirty buildings, many dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, Håholmen feels like an intimate village and a living piece of coastal history at the guests’ disposal.

Boats from Geitøya take you to Håholmen (a 5-minute trip). During the summer season, they follow a regular schedule, while from September to May, we transport guests by appointment.
